To Be
I rest,
I wake,
I want to be them,
I look inward,
I dream,
The light reflects off their skin,
The mirror feels heavy,
But I can’t look away,
Will I ever be them?
Even for just one day?
All I need is right within me,
I’ll unveil it,
I’ll be free,
To my future self I preach:
I don’t want to try,
I just want to Be.
Tessa is 19 and from upstate NY! She is a junior in college and she studies philosophy and psychology, two of her greatest passions! Tessa is Korean-Asian American and was adopted into the most amazing family that taught her how to always do the right thing, and that fitting in is never the goal! She doesn’t like to take life too seriously and tries to avoid cornering herself into a certain label, trying to focus on just liking what she likes and forgetting the rest. Some of Tessa’s other interests are music, photo and video, fashion, the Sixers, writing, and giving advice:)
